You set your availabilities and we send you student opportunities to match. Once you’ve accepted a student, you are in control of your schedule and can shuffle them around as needed. Got an exam coming up? Just move them to a different day. Going away for a few weeks? No problem – let us know and we can organise a cover tutor in your absence.
Working as a Park Lane tutor gives you complete freedom to choose when, with who and how often you want to work. You’ll only work with students that fit in to your schedule and are online or near you, so you’ll never have to travel far to get to your next student.

A great rate of pay
Our tutors earn more than double what they would normally earn in a retail or hospitality job (without the burden of working late nights or weekends!).
Our tutors receive a starting rate of £15 for online lessons and £25 for in-home lessons, increasing as you do more lessons with each of your students. Our top tutors are earning more than £35 per hour lesson – an industry-leading rate of pay.
We offer next day payments straight to your bank account for lessons completed: simply confirm each lesson in your tutor dashboard and payment will arrive in your account within 2 business days.

Our online resource centre has thousands of textbooks, worksheets and practice papers for you to make lesson planning a breeze. We’ll also line up a mentor call ahead of your first lesson to make sure you are fully equipped and prepared for the session.
Whilst you are given complete autonomy, we are never far away – just reach out via live chat, SMS, call or email and we will respond ASAP.

Proven academic success
Our tutors have a strong track record in the subjects they teach—whether that’s achieving top grades at A-level or pursuing the subject at university. These are high-performing students and graduates who bring both academic excellence and real-world insight to their tutoring.
World-class communication skills
Our tutors make complex ideas easy to understand by explaining them in a clear, relatable way. They connect quickly with the students and families they work with, building trust and genuine rapport. Their students feel at ease around them and truly value the supportive relationship they share.
Role models that students look up to
Our tutors are natural role models—confident, driven and inspiring. They set goals in their own lives and have the focus and determination to achieve them. They’re the kind of people others naturally gravitate towards. After each session, their students walk away feeling more confident, motivated, and positive about themselves.
All Park Lane tutors meet the following criteria:
- They have the ability to work with at least 4 students per week
- They have graduated from Secondary School
- They completed their schooling in the UK so they are familiar with the local curriculum. Whilst there are always exceptions, in most cases we do not accept international students on student visas
- They have their drivers license and access to a vehicle (this one isn’t a requirement, but it makes life so much easier!)
- They are willing to commit to their students for at at least 6 months
- They have an existing DBS check or are willing to get one (full details provided)
- They have the ability to legally work in the UK
- They are registered as self-employed with HMRC and have a Unique Taxpayer Reference number, or are willing to obtain it (all tutors are engaged as contractors and a UTR is required to receive payment – this is explained in detail during registration).
- If tutoring online, they have a reliable internet connection, device and a quiet place to work from
We are a child-safe organisation and have one of the most comprehensive child safety policies in the industry. All our tutors must adhere to these standards, including holding a valid DBS check, ID verification, submitting reference checks and interviewing with our team face-to-face.
